Incubators

We are a small company with 45 years' experience of manufacturing housing for small animals and this is reflected in the quality of our new incubators, which have been designed for the care of small animals who need to be kept warm when they are first born or have suffered an injury.

Over the past 18 months, we have supplied in excess of 400 incubators. All have proved to be trouble free in operation. The robust construction is fabricated from polypropylene which is resistant to most chemicals and can withstand boiling water.

Our Incubator

Our Incubator is heated by a small quiet running fan which produces a constant flow of circulation air, passing over a ceramic heating element, to provide a consistent gentle heat throughout the incubator. The internal temperature is maintained by an adjustable controller, with an external read, out to a maximum of 36 deg. C. +/- 1 deg. C.

Unlike some systems where moisture is removed from the air as it is driven over red-hot wires, the surface of our ceramic heater runs at a much lower temperature. Should the air flow be interrupted at any time a thermal heat fuse mounted above the heater cuts the power to the heater to protect the unit from overheating.

Built-in humidity control system maintains the humidity within the incubator to between 50/60 %

All equipment which would be a hazard to the animals are contained behind a shield mounted internally at one end of the incubator which is sealed at the top and both sides with a tapered outlet, above floor level, to allow the circulation air to be driven evenly round the incubator while leaving the whole of the floor area free for the animals.

LUCKY the LAMB

Lucky is the first Lamb who's life was saved by our new Incubator

Lucky, born in a field on a cold, wet and windy night, was found near to death the following morning.

Under normal circumstances Luck's life would have ended there and then but fortunately one of our new Incubators was close at hand and Lucky was able to re-join his mother the very next day.

Incubator Heated Air Circulation

The shield which separates the heating element, temperature controller and associater wiring from the main body of the incubator runs completely across the front end of the incubator. A small circulation fan drives air downwards, from the upper part of the body, across the full width heating element and distributes heated air evenly across the full width of the floor via a slot at the bottom.

A small trough of water situated near the bottom of the shield is warmed to provide humidity control.

The video shows temperature probes located at front and rear of the floor and at a central position near to the ceiling which indicate an air temperature range throughout the main body on the incubator compared to the temperature set in the controller of less than 1.5 Deg. Centigrade.
